for overseeing all agency and investment activities
of the firm.
Mr. Martorella has led Madison since its founding in 1998 and has overseen the execution of over $4 billion in transactions for the firm. He has been responsible for the financing or sale of more than $6 billion of real estate in his career, including over $3 billion of multifamily and residential development. He was previously a partner at Boston Financial, a $6 billion asset real estate investment firm acquired by Lend Lease RE Investments, and a Director within the firm’s Investment Banking Group. Mr. Martorella managed Boston Financial’s New York City office and its Capital Strategies and Principal Investments divisions.
Prior to joining Boston Financial, Mr. Martorella was a principal and founding partner of Alliance Realty Capital, a real estate investment banking firm that was acquired by Boston Financial in 1995. He previously served in various investment and investment banking positions with Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, Prudential Realty Group and Boston Properties.
Mr. Martorella was an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia where he earned degrees in Economics and Computer Science. He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with Distinction. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, National Multi-Housing Council Advisory Committee, a supporting member of the Wharton Real Estate Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors of Carrfour Supportive Housing. Mr. Martorella is a licensed mortgage and real estate broker in the State of Florida.
